History student's photography project on display in Dana Porter library

Heather MacDonald's exhibit examines the identities and relationships of working class women in Canada from the 1930s to the 1950s. Heather created these images to tell a story about the experiences of two women during this period.

BA History ’64 alumnae pens her own perfect obituary

Remarkable woman pens her own perfect obituary

Halla Piekarski, a History grad from 1964, wrote an autobiography and also her own obituary. Storytelling is how Halla catalogued her life, made order of it and discerned what truly mattered. .

I think words are sacred things, not to be taken lightly. My obituary must be done right.
