If you ever suspected Canadian politicians flip-flopped on a specific issue, or wondered where they stand on another, a new online tool will help you easily find out for sure.

Professor Ian Milligan at the University of Waterloo is charting the content of millions of archived political web pages spanning the last decade, allowing the public to compare what Canadian political leaders and pundits said in the past compared to now.

Doctoral Position for the study of Born-Digital Historical Resources

The University of Waterloo's Department of History is inviting applications for a fully-funded doctoral position (in history) commencing September 2016. Drawing on funds from the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation as well as the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, we are looking to recruit a student interested in the historical use of born-digital sources.

Position open: Assistant Professor in Global/Transnational History

The Department of History in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Waterloo is seeking to appoint a tenure-track assistant professor with an established research record in modern (post-1800) global/transnational history. Research interests in the history of science, technology, medicine, and the environment are particularly welcome, but applicants in other fields of study are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will be subsequently nominated for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair.
