Desk Services Leadership Team

The Desk Services Leadership Team is comprised of Team Leaders and Trainers who are experienced Desk Services staff that are hired to support, mentor, and provide guidance to our Front Desk Assistant team.

Both Team Leaders and Trainers must have previous experience within Desk Services as a Front Desk Assistant. As a part of the Desk Services Leadership Team, individuals must be in good academic standing as determined by their faculty. These roles work across all of our residence communities and uphold the same responsibilities and duties of a Front Desk Assistant, in addition to any responsibilities outlined by these roles.

These roles are paid positions. Desk Services Trainers are paid at the rate of $12.70/hour, and Desk Services Team Leaders are paid at the rate of $16.50/hour.


Duties include


As a Desk Services Trainer:

  • Working hands-on with our incoming team with varying levels of experience (new staff, returning staff, etc.) to train them at the desk
  • Maintaining a trainee log to track progress and identify areas of development
  • Working with the other Desk Services Trainers to execute a comprehensive and cohesive training program, which includes the maintenance of a manual and Wiki
  • Conducting check-ins with new FDAs

As a Desk Services Team Leader:

  • Supervision of the Front Desk Assistants
  • Planning and implementing monthly team meetings
  • Mentoring new and returning staff
  • Responding to emergencies when on-call

As a Desk Services Trainer:

  • Someone who has a great working knowledge of Desk Services’ systems, processes, and policies, and how they interplay with other functional areas
  • Someone who works well with different people in a mentorship capacity
  • Someone who takes initiative to ensure the Front Desks have all the resources they need to operate smoothly, and bring forth concerns to either the Team Leaders or the Coordinator, Desk Services
  • Someone who is passionate in ensuring our customers receive the best customer service experience

As a Desk Services Team Leader:

  • Someone who is able to create and foster individual relationships with a group of staff, to ensure they are mentored supported
  • Someone who is able to manage their time well between different tasks
