As university stakeholders, staff and students looked on, the ribbon was cut on Waterloo Residences' newest residence - Mackenzie King Village being the last residence built 15 years ago.
Feridun Hamdullahpur (University of Waterloo President), Glen Weppler (Director of Housing), Chris Read (Associate Provost, Students) and Daniel Parent (University Architect) were joined by Jill Knight (Federation of Students VP Internal) and Michelle Folinas (ResLife Don) who officially opened the New Residence Building. While now officially open, the residence has been occupied since September 3, 2017 where it was built on time and under budget for move-in weekend.
Does your room scream UWaterloo pride? Or maybe your room has become an extension of who you are. Either way, your room could win you $150 in prizes.
This contest is open from September 26, 2017 until October 3, 2017 to all Village 1, Ron Eydt Village, Mackenzie King Village, UW Place, New Residence Building and Columbia Lake Village - South Fall 2017 residents.
We are happy to offer drop-in days for incoming first-year students beginning August 4.
Please note that these tours are for shared spaces in each residence, as well as tour rooms and suites. Due to our maintenance and cleaning staff getting your room ready for move-in, we will be unable to show your exact room or suite on the tour...
