Using TV to promote community development in residence

Some concerns have been raised about our decision to reduce the number of cable television outlets in residence, particularly by those living in Columbia Lake Village North. The following is meant to outline the factors we considered when making our decision. 

Cutting the cord

Cord-cutting has become an increasingly popular activity. It involves people cutting pay television (TV) channels, such as cable TV, and canceling subscriptions to paid viewing of TV.

Construction begins on new student residence at Waterloo

WATERLOO, Ont. (Monday, June 22, 2015) — A ceremony to mark the official start of construction of a new residence for undergraduate students at the University of Waterloo will take place this week.

Once complete, the new residence will house more than 500 students, and will enable the University to continue to offer its first-year housing guarantee for undergraduate students.

The innovative, student-focused design is a result of an extensive consultation process with stakeholders to help ensure a happy and productive living environment for its residents.
