Waterloo Residences acknowledge that we live and work on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. The University of Waterloo is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land promised to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River.
Residence is guaranteed to transfer students when you apply by June 1, 2020.
Transferring to the University of Waterloo? Check one big item off your Transfer To-Do List: Finding a place to live.
If you have an offer of admission, Waterloo has a room waiting for you – a guaranteed place in one of our residences with other upper-year students like you.
There are many great reasons to live on-campus during your studies here.
All residences are located within a 10 - 15 minute walk to the centre of campus. Your room or apartment comes furnished and all utilities are included: heat, electricity, water, Internet and even great services like the grocery shuttle.
You can apply on your own or with friends, either way there are other students around to make it feel like home. Plus there is academic support, social activities, and more.
Did you know that you can live in residence during local co-op terms? Residence contracts match your academic stream so you only pay for the terms you're on campus – no worries about finding a subletter!
As you continue to prepare for your future, it’s important to enhance your self-awareness and develop skills that will help you navigate your choices. This program can assist you in developing those skills and in making connections with alumni mentors, other upper-year students, and subject matter experts. Learn more about the program here.
