Waterloo Residence COVID-19 Response

Providing a safe residence experience is always Housing’s top priority. As you may know, Waterloo has announced that in-person classes ended Friday, March 13th and no in-person exams will be held at the end of this term.

As we actively monitor the situation, we wanted to reassure you that residence buildings and food service outlets remain open for the time being.

At this time we are strongly encouraging all students to make arrangements to leave residence immediately.  Essential services within residences will be operating for those who are unable to leave (cannot return to country of origin, etc.).

We know you may have a number of questions and we are here to support you. We will continue to update this website frequently with your questions; if your question is still not answered, please contact us at housing@uwaterloo.ca.

We continue to take the utmost care in making these difficult decisions, and appreciate your continued understanding and patience. We will continue to provide updates as we receive guidance from the University. For the latest information, please visit https://uwaterloo.ca/coronavirus/ .

We appreciate that many of you may feel concerned or apprehensive regarding these campus decisions and the current global environment, and some may also have friends and family members who are self-isolating or ill.  The University is continuing daily consultation with health care professionals and subject matter experts to ensure that we are making informed decisions that prioritize the health of the campus and community.
