Employee Accessibility Training to be updated

The University’s employee accessibility training is currently being revised to include updates to both our own accessibility initiatives and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). By law, all University employees are required to take accessibility training and it must be up-to-date. Employees and managers will receive additional communications and information on how to access the course once it becomes available. For more information, visit the Accessibility at Waterloo web page or contact Joyce Barlow, Workplace Accessibility Specialist.

Accessibility training requirements

All University of Waterloo employees whether full-time, part-time, or contract are required to complete the Accessibility Training.

You can access the training through the LEARN homepage in three simple steps:

  1. Login using your University WatIAM username and password (same as Workday)
  2. Click the “Self Registration” link at the top of the page
  3. Select “Accessibility Training” from the list – you have the choice of reviewing the transcript for all sessions or completing the interactive modules online

Note: If you receive a "not authorized" error, please contact LEARN support to have your User ID added to LEARN.

If you have any questions regarding the training, including its content, please contact Joyce Barlow, Workplace Accessibility Specialist at joyce.barlow@uwaterloo.ca or extension 30520.
