The University of Waterloo has achieved Gold certification in Excellence Canada's Excellence, Innovation and Wellness (EIW) program, which recognizes the University for its exceptional organizational and workplace practices.
In preparation for the upcoming Fall 2019 start of term, HR will host multiple information sessions for one-time payments, hiring, and onboarding to support start of term activities. NOTICE: We are currently investigating an issue with viewing the Faculty and Staff Salary Increase Advices on mobile devices and in Safari (Mac default browser). Mac users should open advices in Google Chrome and mobile device users should use a laptop or desktop until we find a resolution.
Do you need help with Workday? Human Resources will be visiting each faculty to to assist with onboarding for new student hires (co-ops and graduate research/graduate teaching assistants) and any inquiries related to the system. Drop by our Pop-up between 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. for assistance.
All new graduate student employees will be required to complete the onboarding process in Workday, which includes setting up banking information for direct deposit. The onboarding process needs to be completed as soon as possible to ensure that pay can be issued at the end of each month. Graduate students who have completed onboarding in a previous term will be prompted to verify or update their information. For the second year in a row, the University of Waterloo has received a Canada’s Best Diversity Employer award. In early March, representatives from Human Resources, Organizational & Human Development and the Equity Office accepted the award at a ceremony in Toronto.
For the past month, since the launch of Workday, the Workday Support Centre has been busy assisting employees with the transition to the new HR system. In January, we had more than 9000 unique log-ins to Workday. As of February 11th, support for employees will continue to be available by phone (extension 33000) and email (email@example.com), however EC1 1004 will no longer serve as a drop-in centre.
