Benefit Changes Effective January 1, 2022

The Pension & Benefits Committee has reviewed the maxima corresponding with the extended health and dental benefit provisions and approved the following changes effective January 1st, 2022:

Minimum Wage Changes January 1, 2022

The minimum wage rates in Ontario are increasing on January 1, 2022 as summarized in the following table:

General minimum wage – applies to most employees

$14.35 per hour

$15.00 per hour

Student minimum wage – applies to students under the age of 18 who work 28 hours a week or less when school is in session, or work during a school break or summer holidays

$13.50 per hour

$14.10 per hour

Liquor servers minimum wage – applies to employees who serve liquor directly to customers or guests in licensed premises as a regular part of their work

$12.55 per hour
