The Ontario government has reinstated the prior public holiday pay formula that pre-dated Bill 148. The old formula should be used again beginning on July 1, 2018 and will continue to be used until December 31st, 2019.
Please be advised that the upcoming Victoria Day holiday will be paid using the Bill 148 calculation. The Canada Day holiday and all holidays until December 31st, 2019 will use the prior ESA calculation.

To achieve compliance with the requirements, the University of Waterloo developed Policy 58 to implement and maintain policies governing how the organization will achieve accessibility.

While the service will continue to be offered under the WatIAM name, the current system supporting it will be replaced with a new platform.
2017 T4/T4A tax slips are now available on-line through myHRinfo. Paper copies will be mailed out to those individuals who did not give consent to view their forms on-line. Last Friday, representatives from Hicks Morley law firm came to the University of Waterloo to present on recent changes to employment legislation. With the new Bill 148, the Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act 2017, comes substantial changes to the Employment Standards Act (ESA), the Labour Relations Act (LRA), and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
The Ontario Ministry of Labour has revised the contents of their “What you need to know” poster in accordance with updates to the Employment Standards Act. As a result, employers are required to ensure the following:
