Kristen is an Undergraduate Administrative Coordinator and Academic Advisor for the Faculty of Engineering. Kristen is planning on visiting a number of institutions within Ontario to share and learn about best practices for advising students. This will be an opportunity to share techniques and ideas that are currently being used to help students as they proceed through their academic careers. Kristen’s goal is to bring back new and different concepts on advising skills to share with her faculty and the University of Waterloo advising community.
Joe is a Web Development Manager with Information, Systems & Technology. Joe plans to visit a number of institutions in western Canada, covering British Columbia and Alberta. Joe would like to share and learn about the management of software development teams specifically from staffing and process perspectives. In addition, Joe would like to hear institutional best practices that have been employed to effectively engage the campus community.
Fulu is an International Education Coordinator & Student Advisor with the Faculty of Environment. Fulu plans to visit a number of post-secondary institutions in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador. His focus will be on joint international education programs. Through his consultations, Fulu aims to promote, maintain and further develop our existing joint international education programs at Waterloo.
Danielle is an Instructional Digital Media Developer with the Centre for Extended Learning. Danielle plans to visit post-secondary institutions in British Columbia. Her goal is to meet with representatives from Extended Learning departments to investigate the technologies they are using to develop their online course materials. In addition, Danielle would like to understand their development standards, learn about open educational resources, and explore their emerging media lab.
Susan is a Coordinator with Organizational and Human Development. Susan plans to visit a variety of organizations within Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador. Susan's goals include: learning about alternative leadership program frameworks and investigating organizational best practices with respect to preferred learning environments for employees, whether online or in the classroom. Through these experiences, Susan’s goal is to help inform future leadership development programming at Waterloo.
