Restaurants

Many wonderful restaurants are located very close to the main campus. Here is a list of nearby restaurants within the Kitchener-Waterloo (KW) area. Many of the restaurants in the Kitchener-Waterloo area are sensitive to the needs of vegetarian-friendly or lactose-free diets and will try to accommodate - you need only to let them know!

Entertainment

Numerous venues for entertainment are available in Kitchener/Waterloo, from theatre to the KW Chamber Music Society and the University of Waterloo's orchestra.

Explore local festivals and events on the City of Waterloo's Festival link and the KW tourism site. For all other events in the Kitchener-Waterloo area, Waterloo Region Tourism's events calendar provides a fairly comprehensive listing, broken down into several subcategories.

For something closer to home, the University's Theatre Centre also lists a number of events that are put on by both students and faculty.

Community events

The City of Waterloo lists a monthly schedule of community events that are open to the public. You can also explore the Regional Municipality of Waterloo's site.

The UWaterloo community also has several events that are posted and open to both faculty and the general public.

Recreation

The University's Campus Recreation offers several options to stay fit. Both you and your spouse/partner can participate in many of the activities, such as clubs, fitness classes, intramural leagues, and aquatics.

A wide variety of off-campus sports clubs and leagues are active in Waterloo region. To find one that suits your interest, view the lists provided by the City of Kitchener and the City of Waterloo.

Parks

Public parks and trails are a great way to relax and enjoy a fun time with family and friends.

Libraries

There are several public libraries in the Kitchener and Waterloo area besides the ones located on-campus. Both the Kitchener Public Library and the Waterloo Public Library have many opportunities to expand the minds of the young and young-at-heart.
