We are pleased to offer a new online training exploring Sexual Violence Awareness and Support, which is available on LEARN. The course provides important information for our entire UW community, including where to seek and receive help if you, or someone you know, has experienced sexual violence.
In making this training available to everyone, we are endeavouring to create a campus climate in which we can openly discuss this issue and raise awareness, and ultimately reduce sexual violence.
To access the training module, you need to self-register within LEARN.

This is a very normal feeling to experience. Content around sexual violence and sexual assault can be triggering for some people. If at any time during the training module, you start to feel distressed, panicked, and/or triggered in any way, please stop the training and seek out support for yourself.
Supports available on campus include:
Yes your participation is confidential and the Human Rights, Equity and Inclusion Office will maintain records of completion. No one outside of this team will see individual names or responses to indicate participation. Any information that we may be asked to provide will be in aggregate (e.g. 1,000 Engineering undergraduate students completed the training)

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
