Led by the Office of Research, the University of Waterloo Canada Research Chairs (CRCs) Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Action Plan (EAP) identifies specific goals as well as key objectives and actions for addressing under-representation of individuals from the four designated groups (FDGs: women, persons with disabilities, Indigenous peoples and members of visible minorities, and individuals in the LGBTQ2+ communities) in the institution’s complement of CRCs. The EAP also includes actions for ensuring an equitable and welcoming work environment for all Waterloo CRCs.
The Multi Year Accessibility Plan is used to identify the progress made toward achieving accessibility and its requirements established under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and Policy 58. Waterloo is committed to fostering an accessible campus environment for persons with disabilities.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
