Each year, the University of Waterloo joins with organizations, governments, and groups worldwide to participate in 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence to remind all citizens that they can take actions in their everyday lives to stop gender-based violence.
16 Days begins on November 25 with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and concludes on December 10, International Human Rights Day. In Canada, 16 Days includes the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women on December 6.
Visit the UW 16 Days Website to learn more about the 2021 events and actions on campus.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
