DESCRIPTION:The University of Waterloo is honoured to welcome an Eagle Staf
 f to\nour institution. Indigenous Knowledge Keeper Myeengun Henry will\nin
 troduce this sacred item\, on behalf of the UWaterloo Indigenous\ncampus c
 ommunity.\n\nAn Eagle Staff is an important element of the Indigenous rela
 tionship\nto mother earth and those that have protected it. The Staff refl
 ects\nthe wisdom\, strength\, and honour of those that carry it in\nrepres
 entation of Nations across Turtle Island.\n\nThis Eagle Staff will be pres
 ent at ceremonies and celebrations\, such\nas convocation\, representing U
 niversity of Waterloo First Nations\,\nMétis and Inuit community members\
 , their traditions\, cultures\, and\nstrengths.\n\nThrough the introductio
 n of the Eagle Staff\, the University of\nWaterloo honours the responsibil
 ity to take on Indigenous\nperspectives\, ensuring that they are reflected
  in the governance\,\nstructure\, and intent of the University. A symbol o
 f Indigenous\nacknowledgement\, the Eagle Staff will serve as a beacon of\
 nreconciliation throughout our shared future.\n\nLOCATION: Federation Hall
 \nDATE: Monday\, March 27\, 2023\nTIME: 10:00 a.m.\n\n_A sunrise ceremony 
 will take place at 7:00 a.m. outside of Federation\nHall_\n\nThe entire un
 iversity community is invited to participate in this\nmeaningful ceremony 
 as we welcome the Eagle Staff.\n\nThe ceremony is expected to take up to 9
 0 minutes\, including an\nopportunity for refreshments and community build
