DESCRIPTION:CALLING ALL FIRST NATONS\, METIS\, AND INUIT STUDENTS\, STAFF\,
  AND\nFACULTY AT UWATERLOO! We want your creativity and input for the\nUWa
 terloo Indigenous Logo\, coming soon!\n\nWhen: Thursday\, October 5 | 1-2 
 pm\nWhere: Waterloo Indigenous Student Centre (WISC)\n\nIn recognition of 
 our commitments to reconciliation\, decolonization\,\nand indigenization\,
  the Office of Indigenous Relations and University\nRelations is embarking
  on a project to find different ways to\nrepresent indigeneity in the Univ
 ersity of Waterloo logo.\n\nOur current shield\, which dates to 1961\, use
 s the official colours of\ngold\, black and white with double chevrons and
  three red lions.\n\nAccording to our brand website: “The imagery is der
 ived from the\ncoats of arms of two historic figures connected to Waterloo
  Region —\nLord Kitchener and the Duke of Wellington. The colours reflec
 t the\nGermanic heritage of the Region.”\n\nRecognizing that this erases
  historical and contemporary Indigenous\nlife on the territory that the Un
 iversity of Waterloo now occupies\,\nthis logo project will seek to commis
 sion Indigenous artists to create\ndifferent interpretations of the logo.\
 n\nThis logo will be made available in official branding packages on the\n
 branding website for anyone at UWaterloo to use in their presentations\nan
 d communications materials.\n\nConsultation is the initial step towards th
 e addition of Indigenous\nlogo options at UWaterloo\, and we value your in
 sight and creativity!\n\nSnacks and beverages will be provided. The link t
