This session will provide an overview of an RT ticket lifecycle, what challenges exist and how to remedy them, tips on how to make the most of RT and how you can request new features and functionality. There will also be a brief introduction to the next version of RT (coming later in 2017).

Intended audience: Existing campus users of the RT system, or those interested in learning more about the RT system and how it can help with tracking requests/problems/tasks their area.

Friday, January 20, 2017 — 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM EST

Speaker: Bob Hicks, IST

While going down memory lane is fun, Bob won’t be doing that in this seminar. Well, maybe a little, but the focus will be on the future.  Bob will share some lessons learned during his 39 year career at the University of Waterloo, and he will share some personal insights about things he feels are important for the university going forward. This will be Bob’s last PDAG presentation before he retires on May 1, 2017.

This seminar is an expanded version of the seminar he gave at WatITis 2016. It will include music and  videos not played at WatITis, and also there will be more time for questions and discussion. Bob will be happy to collect and pass along any input you have for his successor.

Friday, January 13, 2017 — 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM EST

Speaker: Greg Smith, IST

The EDUCAUSE Annual Conference is the largest Higher Education IT conference in the world.  In this seminar, Greg will share key messages and themes from the October 2016 conference that was held in Anaheim, California.

Please note that this is an expanded version of the talk given at WatITis 2016.
