Presentation Friday: Can Your Web Browser Keep a Secret?Export this event to calendar

Friday, February 20, 2015 — 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM EST

Speaker:    Terry Labach, IST

By browsing web sites, you leave an electronic trail that businesses, marketers, and governments find very interesting.

In this presentation, Terry will talk about why this should concern you, even if you think you have nothing to hide. He'll discuss the means - both technical and psychological - that other parties use to find out what you're up to when web browsing. He'll show some of the information that your browsing allows others to acquire. Finally, Terry will describe some steps you can take to protect your privacy and prevent your private information from being used against your will, or against you.

This seminar will be webcasted/recorded and questions can be asked during the webcast (there is a link on the page).
