Exchange Calendar resource settings reference

Open resource mailbox

  1. If your mail is on Office 365:
    1. Outlook on the Web (Office 365) using your own account:
      https://outlook.office.com
    2. Click on the profile picture icon in the top-right corner:
      Open another mailbox
    3. Click Open another mailbox
    4. Type the name of the resource and click Search Directory
    5. Choose the resource and click Open
    6. If you see a page with "Use the following link to open this mailbox with the best performance:" click the link and follow the prompts to login.
  2. If your mail is on-premises (connect) or the above steps don't work, type a link to the resource settings. Replace the "resourceemail@uwaterloo.ca" with the email address for your resource:
    1. If the resource is in the cloud:
      1. https://outlook.office.com/mail/resourceemail@uwaterloo.ca
      2. If prompted, Login to Office 365 with your own credentials
    2. If the resource is on premises:
      1. https://connect.uwaterloo.ca/owa/resourceemail@uwaterloo.ca
      2. If prompted, login to connect with your own credentials

Modify Resource Settings

  1. Click the Gear icon for settings, then Options

Must be checked to set the following two settings, then should be unchecked.

The interaction of "Allow" conflicts" and "Allow up to this number" for booking meetings does not match the behaviour of the user interface.

Setting this number allows a recurring meeting to be booked if some instances have conflicts. The conflicting instances are  declined.

Must check "Allow conflicts" to change this number. Then uncheck "Allow conflicts" for normal operation.

Scheduling Permissions    
These people can schedule automatically if the resource is available Everyone Most rooms are trouble-free with this set to Everyone. Configure a list to limit who can book the room.
These users can submit a request for owner approval if the resource is available Specific people and groups (empty list) These booking requests go to the "Booking Delegate" which must be specially set up by IST. This is not the same as a calendar delegate or a resource owner.
These people or groups can schedule automatically if the resource is available and can submit a request for owner approval if the resource is unavailable Specific people and groups (empty list) This is for VIP requests who should be able to ask for otherwise unavailable resources.
