Comment: There is be interruptions to the wired and wireless Aruba authenticated networks tomorrow morning while the controllers and AP’s are upgraded to a new firmware.

Outages are expected to last less than 10 minutes while the devices reload.

Spear phishing attack “Account Verification”

There is a very directed “phishing” attempt being targeted to nexusmail users asking them for their userid and password.

Do not reply!

No computing group would ever ask for your account password.

Email phishing for cell phone numbers

Cell phone users do not need to register their number with the National Do Not Call list, delete the email.

Included in this notice are a sample email and a note from our Telecommunications Analyst.

Bookit - Fix for desktop client issues

If you are having trouble connecting to Bookit using the desktop client, please do the following:

  1. from the login screen, click on the Other button
  2. select bookit from the list and click on Edit
  3. make sure that bookit.uwaterloo.ca is in the server location
  4. select LookUP
  5. make sure that the button configure for user on login (first option) is selected
  6. click on Configure
  7. click ok and ok again to bring you back to the login in screen.
  8. login as usual
