Microsoft Windows XP operating system - end of life status

What is happening? On April 8 2014, the Microsoft Windows XP operating system will be at end-of-life status. Operating system updates will not be available after this date.

Why is this important? This presents a risk to the university as new security vulnerabilities discovered after this date cannot be corrected, which could endanger the confidentiality, integrity, and/or availability of information in the university’s care.

Planned wireless outages - July 21

What has been happening? Over the past 10 months, IST has been upgrading the wireless infrastructure across campus in an effort to better support the needs of students and other users within common areas.

Why is this happening? The number of wireless devices on campus is increasing. Key devices within the core of the wireless network must be upgraded to keep up with the demand being placed on the wireless network.

myHRinfo down July 11 4:30pm to July 15 8:30am July 11th, 2013

Human Resources and Information Systems and Technology (IST) will be taking myHRinfo offline on Thursday, July 11 at 4:30 p.m. to support maintenance and regulatory updates. The downtime will last until Monday, July 15 at 8:30 a.m.

During this period, Users will not be able to login or to make changes to any information using myHRinfo.

Bi-weekly payroll advices for the July 12 pay date will be available for viewing on July 11 until 4:30 p.m.

Sharepoint maintenance - July 16 9am

What is being done? Changing the SharePoint Directory Lookup to return only Nexus usernames.

Why is this being done? To prevent site owners from inadvertently adding a user’s ADS account to a SharePoint site, instead of the required Nexus account.

When is it being done? Tuesday, July 16 at 9am.

What is the impact to SharePoint users? There should be no impact to users. SharePoint will remain available during the time the change is made.
