Exchange certificate upgrade – May 1

What is happening? The SSL certificate for Exchange services (connect) needs to be replaced as it will expire shortly.

When is this happening? Thursday, May 1, 10:00 pm to 11:00 pm

What is the impact? It may be necessary to re-authenticate if you are using Outlook Web App during the maintenance period.

Microsoft Internet Explorer critical security flaw

On April 26th, Microsoft announced a critical security flaw with the Internet Explorer (IE) browser.  The flaw was discovered as cybercriminals were using it to target organizations in the USA.  The flaw affects IE versions 6 through 11 on Microsoft Windows.  It is not known when Microsoft will provide a fix.

Firefox and Flash Player upgrades – April 29

What is happening? Firefox 24.5.0 ESR and Adobe Flash Player 13.0.0.206 will be deployed to Academic Support computers.

When is this happening? Tuesday, April 29 at 12:00 midnight

What you need to do before the upgrade begins: Please close any open web browsers before leaving work on April 29. If you forget to close them, a task sequence will close them for you, but your work may not be saved.

WatIAM maintenance – April 28

What is happening? WatIAM will be taken offline for maintenance.

Why is this happening? The system will be taken down to introduce a new build that handles changes to how graduate student email is now being handled in some faculties.

When is this happening? Monday, April 28, 4:30 pm – 5:00 pm.
