SharePoint services slow or unresponsive - December 12

Update (December 12 11:19am): The one ailing front-end server has been taken out of service while IST investigates the issue.


SharePoint users may find the service slow or unavailable.

One of the SharePoint front-end servers is experiencing issues. IST staff are investigating.

UW homepage and WCMS website problem - December 12 (resolved)

Update: Resolved at 10:36 am.

The outage lasted for approximately 20 minutes and from what I understand it was caused by a firewall configuration change.


IST is aware of issues with the UW homepage and WCMS websites. Our technical staff are investigating.

We will keep you updated as information becomes available.

Quest unavailable - December 10 from 6:30 am - 9:00 am

What is being done?  Network changes are being made.

Why is this being done? To improve the network and load balancing.

When is it being done? From 6:30am-9:00am EST Wednesday, December 10, 2014.:30am EST Wednesday, December 3, 2014.

What is the impact to Quest users? Quest will be down, and unavailable for these scheduled network changes.

Outlook prompts after move to new load balancer

What is happening? Some users are getting Outlook prompts warning them about settings coming from a redirected location.

Why is this happening? Exchange/Connect was moved to a new network load balancer on Monday morning. The new network load balancer has a different IP address than the previous network switch. Outlook notices that the Exchange configuration location (autodiscover) has changed and is prompting you to accept this “new” source for your Outlook settings.
