Scheduled testing of the Emergency Notification System - January 31

What is happening? We will be testing the University’s campus-wide emergency communication system. 

When is this happening? Thursday, January 31 at 10:00 a.m.                                              

What is the impact? Emergency communication channels being tested include: 

  • Tweets to @UWaterloo and @WatSAFEapp 

  • WatSAFE mobile app 

  • The ‘UW Emerge’ on-screen pop-up for desktops and laptops 

  • Skype for Business Instant Messages

Resolved: WatIAM login issues - January 21

RESOLVED: The login issue with the WatIAM has been resolved. Users should now be able to access the system without issue. Users may not have been able to login to WatIAM between Sunday, January 20 at 8:00 p.m. to Monday, January 21 at 9:10 a.m.

Maintenance on the Velocity access control system administration server - January 15-16

What is happening? The Velocity access control server software will be upgraded from version 3.5 to 3.6. 

When is this happening? Tuesday, January 15 and Wednesday, January 16.

What is the impact? Administration of the access control system will be unavailable during the maintenance period. During the maintenance period: 

  • Door schedules cannot be changed
  • Fobs cannot be programmed and access cannot be changed

Note: All doors and fobs will continue to function.

Davis Center (DC) service desk closed - January 5

What is happening? The Davis Center (DC) service desk will be closed due to a power shut down in DC. Please visit our Dana Porter (DP) service desk location if you require assistance during the maintenance period.

When is this happening?  Saturday January 5, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
