What is happening? Users may have received an email from firstname.lastname@example.org about the deletion of their mysharepoint.uwaterloo.ca site. Note: this only affects MySharePoint sites, Office 365 and on premises SharePoint collaboration sites will not be affected.
Why is this happening? Users that have not used their MySharePoint site for over 90 days will receive this notification. Reminders will be emailed every day for 28 days before the site is deleted.
UPDATE (March 22): IST has determined that approximately 830 employees were affected by this issue. It is also possible that email delivery to these accounts would not have been possible during the time the employee record was missing.
*It has been determined that the issue is not with Nexus but with the employee data feed.
