Email attachment issues – January 16

What is happening?  Yesterday's virus definition for Forefront Microsoft Exchange caused Forefront to quarantine legitimate attachments and returning a non-deliverable to the recipient with the following information:

FILE QUARANTINED
Microsoft Forefront Protection for Exchange Server removed a file since it was found to be infected.
File name: "******.pdf"
Malware name: "JS/Injector.A"

This issue has now been resolved after IST applied the latest virus definitions.

When did this happen? Monday, January 16 from approximately 1:00 p.m. to 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17.

What is the impact? Users may have been unable to send or receive emails that contain attachments during the outage window. If you are unsure if your email was delivered, it is advised that you resend it. 

Please note: This affected emails sent to or from Connect accounts.
