At midnight Sunday evening (rather Monday morning, July 27, at 12:01am), the POP services on the Exchange environment “Connect” will be turned off.
Outlook/MAPI and IMAP both support offline mail processing for those who require it (this is often cited as a benefit of using POP).
Use of the POP service on Exchange has always been minimal and most often the result of an errant client configuration than a conscious decision to use POP. As of this afternoon, the access logs indicate that there is one person using POP to access their mail on Connect. We are continuing to monitor the Exchange logs in order to identify anyone who is using POP and will attempt to contact them ahead of the weekend.
