Microsoft Planner now available for personal Office 365 accounts

Clarification: Microsoft Planner was previously only available for use within a team in Microsoft Teams. Planner is now available for staff and faculty to use under their own Office 365 accounts, independent of Microsoft Teams. Plans being requested for individual use can be personal or work-related in nature. 


What is happening? Microsoft Planner is now available for personal use for staff and faculty. 

How do I create a new Plan in Microsoft Planner? IST will create a new Plan for the user once a request is submitted: https://uwaterloo.ca/information-systems-technology/request-plan

  • Users must submit a request using the form above as creating a plan using tasks.office.com is still unavailable.
    • Only requests made using the form will be accepted; requests made externally will not be processed.
  • A new request must be submitted for each Plan.
  • Please allow 2-3 business days for your request to be fulfilled.
