What is happening? Microsoft Teams for Linux is now available in public preview. The Linux Teams client supports the same features as the Windows and Mac clients (e.g. chat, audio and video calling, file sharing).
How do I install Teams for Linux? Please follow the instructions listed on Microsoft's website: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/get-clients#linux
- To download the client, install either the DEB or RPM version depending on your Linux distribution: https://teams.microsoft.com/download#allDevicesSection
- Known supported distributions at this time: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, 18.04 LTS, Fedora 30 Workstation, RHEL 8 Workstation, CentOS 8.
- CentOS 7 is expected to be supported in the future.
- As a result of the Linux client being a preview, users may see unexpected changes applied or experience features working incorrectly.
