Outlook redirection to autodiscover server – July 23

UPDATE: The redirection to the autodiscover.uwaterloo.ca server is part of a normal process for email clients to retrieve the information it requires. Users should check the box “Always use my response for this server” and click “Allow” if the dialogue window pops up on their computer. It is possible that it will continue to pop up in the future.

IST is working with Microsoft to determine the cause and possible solution.

What is happening? IST has received reports that some Outlook users are receiving a pop up (below) that is asking them to allow Outlook to be redirected to the autodiscover.uwaterloo.ca server. IST is aware and currently investigating the cause. Additional information will be shared when available.
