We have had to delay deployment by one day and have rescheduled this for July 30 at 11:00 pm.
What is happening? Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) software deployment is being changed from the SEP Management console to System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) for all managed Academic Support PCs. Our records indicate that 101 AS PCs are currently without SEP installed and 117 AS PCs are running an older version of SEP. These 218 AS PCs will be upgraded to SEP 12.1.4100.4126. If your PC has the latest version of SEP installed, you will not be affected.
When is this happening?
Tuesday, July 29 Wednesday July 30, 11:00pm
What users need to do before the upgrade begins: Users should close programs and logoff before heading home on July 30. Machines will be rebooted or may require the user to reboot the machine after the update is applied.
After the upgrade: You can verify that you have the latest version of SEP installed, by double-clicking the SEP icon on your taskbar, then clicking on the “Help” button, and selecting “About…”. The version number should be 12.1.4100.4126.
