What is happening?  Qualtrics is currently unavailable. IST is working with the vendor to resolve this issue. 
 

What is the impact?  Survey owners will not be able to access Qualtrics to edit existing surveys, create new surveys, or access survey results.

What is happening? myHRinfo will have a planned downtime for an application update.

When is it happening? Wednesday November 14 from 6:30-10:30 a.m.

Exchange server maintenance – November 19-30

What is happening? Exchange servers are being removed from service for maintenance/updates. Individual servers will be taken out of service between 9:00 and 10:00 p.m. each night throughout the maintenance period. 

When is it happening? Monday, November 19 to Friday, November 30 between 9:00 and 10:00 p.m. each night.

Why is it happening? To keep the software current with vendor-provided updates.

WCMS Publication theme update – October 31 and November 5

What is happening? The WCMS Publication theme will be updated

When is this happening? The update will occur over two dates:

  • Pilot sites will be updated Wednesday, October 31 at 3:00 p.m.
  • Production sites will be updated Monday, November 5 at 7:00 p.m.

What are the changes? The University of Waterloo Magazine publication will be updated to better align with the University’s brand guidelines, all publications will be updated to fix an issue with the footer where it would occasionally repeat the login links.

Issue making phone calls for Mac 2016 Skype for Business users

What is happening? Some Mac 2016 Skype for Business (S4B) users reported an issue making phone calls. This was a result of how the phone numbers were being stored locally, and the system mistaking phone numbers for Skype addresses.  

Who is impacted? Mac 2016 users only. These users may have also experienced this problem before the October 15-18 server upgrade. 

To resolve this issue: Affected users should complete the following steps to clear their local system cache:

Skype for Business (S4B) maintenance – October 15-18

What is happening? The Skype for Business East Campus 2 (EC2) datacentre pool will be updated to the latest version. This patch will also provide better support for the new Mac Skype for Business 2016 client and address a specific issue regarding phone calls from the Mac clients. During this time, we will also be re-balancing the two pools (EC2 and MC), which will involve moving a set of users from EC2 to MC when the maintenance is completed.

CN-VPN hardware and software upgrade – November 6

What is happening? The current VPN solution is at end-of-life. New hardware will be implemented to support campus VPN connections.
