Wireless network maintenance - February 14 and February 19

Wednesday, February 13, 2019
What is happening? New wireless IP ranges are coming into effect. Each range below is further broken down into subnets for eduroam, resnet, uw-events, and more.

  • IPv4 wireless range: 10.32.0.0/13
  • IPv6 wireless range: 2620:101:f000:700::/56
When is it happening? EC2 wireless will be migrated Thursday, February 14 at 7:00 a.m. Other buildings will follow, beginning Tuesday, February 19.

Why is it happening? To finalize the deployment of new wireless infrastructure, with more powerful hardware and improved design.

Who will it impact? Wireless Access Points (AP) will reboot while they are migrated to new controllers and users may need to reconnect. Server administrators may need to update their host based firewall rules to either permit or deny the new wireless IP ranges.
