Crashes of the controller interrupt service for a few minutes and authentication process failures (one to two per day) requiring users to log back in. We regret this inconvenience, and are taking all steps to resolve the matter.

Since implementing the new firmware image, and moving the MAC-based authentication to its own SSID/wireless-network 10 days ago, we have had no problems with the authentication process dying, and have had no controller crashes. Usage has increased with the move-in of first-year students this week, and there seem to be no load-related problems. I think this particular set of problems is solved, and we’ll move ahead next week with converting the rest of the existing NAAs to Aruba.
