One Post-Doctoral position (.pdf)  is available immediately to contribute to Dr. Andrew Laing’s research program associated with fall-related injury prevention in older adults. This position will serve as a bridge between Dr. Laing’s Injury Biomechanics and Aging Laboratory and his Safety Flooring Laboratory (based in the Schlegel-UW Research Institute for Aging). We are looking for an energetic and creative post-doctoral fellow to contribute to the development and implementation of novel lines of research related to injury prevention, falls, and mobility in older adults.

Requirements: The incumbent must have a PhD in Kinesiology, Engineering, Neuroscience, Clinical Science (or related area) and ideally experience working with stakeholder groups including older adults, elder care facilities, and multi-disciplinary research groups. Relevant skills include expertise related to impact biomechanics, balance control, fall prevention, and/or ergonomics. Experience working with funding agencies, programming in Matlab, probabilistic modeling, and/or epidemiological methods would be strong assets. Mitacs Post-Doctoral eligibility must be met (Mitacs criteria).

Specifics: Annual salary will be based on Mitacs guidelines (up to $55k per year). Funding is available initially for a 2-year contract. More details can be found in the attached job advertisement.
