Established in 1998, Bell University Laboratories (BUL) is a research program of projects that encourage collaboration between university researchers (including students) and Bell Canada experts. Bell University Labs at the University of Waterloo is managed by Vic DiCiccio in association with Lorna Josephs (Associate Director, Bell University Laboratories).
BUL projects focus on business needs or the experimental application of research to services problems at Bell Canada. Successful projects require a strong statement of value to Bell. The funds are used primarily for graduate students, and there is a tradition of open publication of research results.
Application is by invitation, but researchers with interested Bell interactors, or a likelihood of interesting a Bell champion, should contact Lorna Josephs or Vic DiCiccio.
