Abstract

The rapid adoption of eBooks is revolutionizing the publishing industry with dramatic impacts on the entire value chain: authors, publishers, book retailers, ... More importantly, it is changing a fundamental aspect of our society and our lives: READING. Kobo is a leading eBook retailer: we provide books, newspapers, and magazines to customers around the world. Our broad product platform allows users to read on any device including mobile phones, tablets, and Kobo's own eReaders. Kobo is a Toronto based start-up competing head-to-head with industry giants such as Apple and Amazon. In this session you'll learn about how Kobo continues to gain market share against those kinds of odds. In particular, we'll talk about how we approach product development and how we have build products that our users love.
