Ally Skills Workshop

Wednesday, May 22, 2019 11:00 am - 2:00 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)

What makes someone a good ally? How can you use your privilege to stand up and support others?

This ally skills workshop is intended for students, faculty, and staff at the University of Waterloo who are interested in learning how to step up and use their societal advantages for good. This ~3 hour workshop, hosted by the Faculty of Science HeForShe committee and facilitated by Kendra Albert, will address general ally skills, with an emphasis on sexism, racism, and homophobia. Using custom scenarios, the workshop will guide participants through ways to recognize problematic situations and develop language to practice basic ally responses.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend this free event! Lunch will be provided. Please register at the event website.
