SUMMARY:Seminar: William Paul
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:TOWARD SINGLE ATOM QUBITS ON A SURFACE: PUMP-PROBE SPECTROSCOPY
  AND\nELECTRICALLY-DRIVEN SPIN RESONANCE\n\nWILLIAM PAUL\, IBM RESEARCH\n\
nSingle Fe atoms placed on a thin MgO film have exceptional magnetic\nprop
erties: Their spin relaxation lifetime can extend to many\nmilliseconds\,
and their quantum state can be coherently manipulated by\nRF electric fiel
ds. In this talk\, we will discuss a scanning tunneling\nmicroscopy (STM)
investigation of the dynamics of spin-relaxation and\nthe electric-field-d
riven spin resonance of individual Fe atoms on a\nMgO/Ag(001) surface.
