 e most common building blocks of matter\, is also\na unique probe for stud
 ying materials and fundamental interactions.\nThe only electrically-neutra
 l nucleus\, the neutron passes through most\nmaterials with ease\, even at
  the lowest energies. Nowadays neutrons\,\neven with their ~ 15 minute lif
 etime\, are used to study problems\nranging from charging and discharging 
 of common batteries to\ncosmological dark energy. Here I will focus on the
  neutron as a\nquantum particle.
