 actorable biphotons are highly desirable for many photonic\nquantum inform
 ation processing tasks such as quantum computation\,\nboson sampling\, and
  quantum repeaters. We generate biphotons with\nspectral purity of 99%\, t
 he highest to date without any spectral\nfiltering\, by pulsed spontaneous
  parametric downconversion in a\ncustom-fabricated PPKTP crystal under ex
 tended Gaussian\nphase-matching conditions.
