 open systems of\nthe Schrödinger equation. We give a quantum algorithm fo
 r simulating\nthe evolution of an n-qubit system under the Lindblad equati
 on with\nlocal terms. The gate cost of the algorithm is\nO(mTlog^2(T/\\eps
 ilon)/loglog(T/\\epsilon))\, where T is the evolution\ntime\, \\epsilon is
  the precision of the output state\, and m is the\nnumber of local terms o
 ccurring in the equation.
