DESCRIPTION:REAL-TIME DYNAMICS OF LATTICE GAUGE THEORIES WITH A FEW-QUBIT Q
 UANTUM\nCOMPUTER\n\nCHRISTINE MUSCHIK\, UNIVERSITY OF INNSBRUCK\n\nGauge
theories are fundamental to our understanding of interactions\nbetween the
elementary constituents of matter as mediated by gauge\nbosons. However\,
computing the real-time dynamics in gauge theories is\na notorious challe
nge for classical computational methods. In the\nspirit of Feynman's visio
n of a quantum simulator\, this has recently\nstimulated theoretical effor
t to devise schemes for simulating such\ntheories on engineered quantum-me
chanical devices\, with the difficulty\nthat gauge invariance and the asso
ciated local conservation laws\n(Gauss laws) need to be implemented.
