DESCRIPTION:SIMULATION OF III-V NANOWIRES FOR INFRARED PHOTODETECTION\n\nKH
ALIFA M. AZIZUR-RAHMAN\, MCMASTER UNIVERSITY\n\nThe absorptance in vertica
l nanowire (nw) arrays is typically\ndominated by three optical phenomena:
radial mode resonances\,\nnear-field evanescent wave coupling\, and Fabry
–Perot (F-P) mode\nresonances. The contribution of these optical phenome
na to GaAs\, InP\nand InAs nw absorptance was simulated using the finite e
lement method.\nThe study compared the absorptance between finite and semi
-infinite\nnws with varying geometrical parameters\, including the nw diam
eter\n(D)\, array period (P)\, and nw length (L).
