 n\nJOEY ZHONG\n\nWe use a combination of Raman spectroscopy and transport 
 measurements\nto study thin flakes of the type-II Weyl semimetal candidate
 \nMoTe2 protected from oxidation. In contrast to bulk crystals\, which\ne
 xperience a phase transition from monoclinic to the inversion\nsymmetry br
 eaking\, orthorhombic phase below ~250 K\, we find that in\nmoderately thi
 n samples below 10 nm\, a single orthorhombic phase\nexists up to and beyo
 nd room temperature.
