 consider a new type of attack on a coherent state-based quantum key\ndistr
 ibution protocols (like coherent one-way (COW) or differential\nphase-shif
 t (DPS) protocol). The main idea of the attack consists in\nmeasuring indi
 vidually the intercepted states and sending the rest of\nthem unchanged. I
 n some cases\, this attack can be considered as a\ngeneralization of well-
 known beam-splitting attack and unambiguous\nstate discrimination attack.
