SUMMARY:Quantum clocks and information driven heat engines
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:SEMINAR: BHASKARAN MURALIDHARAN\n\nWe describe two distinct app
lications of quantum dots [1-3] from a\nquantum transport perspective. In
the first part\, we bring in a\nBayesian viewpoint to the analysis of cloc
ks\, specifically taking the\nSalecker Wigner clock formulation [4] and ex
plore a novel set up to\nestimate the tunneling time [1] between electrons
in a contact and a\nquantum dot weakly coupled to it. Using the exponenti
al tunneling\ndistribution as priors for clocks\, we analyze the case of a
single\nprecessing spin in a quantum dot.
