 \nI will introduce quantum annealing as a technique for harnessing\nquantu
 m mechanics to solve hard problems. The design of a quantum\nannealing pro
 cessor based on superconducting flux qubits\, some of the\nchallenges we h
 ave encountered in constructing it\, and measurements\nconfirming the role
  of quantum mechanics in such processors will be\npresented. Finally\, I w
 ill briefly discuss recent benchmarking and\nsimulation results using the 
 D-Wave 2000Q processor.
